Czy to jest krętogłów....?

Najpierw usłyszałam bardzo ładny i niespotykany odgłos ptaka. Wyjrzałam przez okno i na skalniaku zobaczyłam oryginalnego skrzydlatego osobnika trochę większego od wróbla. Charakterystyczne upierzenie i pręga na jego karku i plecach wyglądały jak łuska węża. Ptak zachowywał się jak wąż. Przez moment na kamieniach usiadł wróbel a nieznajomy ptak prężył się i jakby syczał, co skutecznie odstraszyło wróbla. Przeszukałam internet i ustaliłam że to może być krętogłów (Jynx torquilla).... Nie wiem skąd się pojawił w moim ogrodzie ale jestem mu bardzo wdzięczna za odwiedziny bo wyjadł mrówki, które zaatakowały kamienne dekoracje ogrodowe.

  1. Na tych kamieniach prawie go nie widać. Z ciekawości także zajrzałam do internetu i poczytałam o nim. Ciekawy ptaszek.

  4. My first visit to your site, and I am so happy to find a blogger friend in Poland. My husband and I traveled there many years ago and have some wonderful memories of Warsaw. What a strange bird, certainly one I have never seen. Thanks for the pictures.

    Wiem, że to niezwykły, niespotykany ptak, który również przykuł moją uwagę.
    Elu, może podeślesz go do mojego ogrodu? U mnie jest mnóstwo mrówek.
    Widzę, że z niego świetny łowczy.

    1. Lusiu, ja też do piątku nie wiedziałam że taki ptak istnieje... Czytałam że krętogłów zimuje w środkowej Afryce więc może po drodze na południe odwiedzi Twój ogród.

  17. The feathers have a similar pattern as one sees on a rattlesnake. It is an unusual looking bird.

  25. Hello Ella!:) What an interesting bird! My first thought was that it looked like a snake, not only that, it has the perfect colour and design to blend in with it's surroundings. It's great that you spotted it to show us, and is a very good find indeed. Now I'm going to look it up myself to find out more about this unusual bird.

  65. No pewnie, że krętogłów! A to Ci się trafił wyborny gość! Cudowny dzięcioł, uwielbiamy ten gatunek. Kiedyś udało nam się złapać jednego osobnika i oznakować obrączką. Gdy trzymaliśmy go w rękach, to kręcił głową, jak karuzela... Spryciarz...
    Ładna dokumentacja fotograficzna :-).
